When I sold used vehicles for a living I was always amazed at the panic that came over the public when fuel prices spiked. Their panic mode often times caused them to not think rationally and try as I might to encourage them to slow down and DO THE MATH, most would not. Amazingly, I witnessed many people jump from their SUV to a beer can 4 cylinder crapbox and lose tons of money on the transaction. Had they done the math they would have understood in many cases that they could have paid the higher fuel costs with the money they did not lose and kept driving their safer, full framed, comfortable SUV. Rising fuel costs are painful for everyone. Be sure you understand the numbers, all associated costs before you make your decision. For those of you who have always wanted a high end SUV and drive very few miles or can afford to let it set in the driveway until you want to spoil yourself......Do the math, your dream may be closer than you think.
